The Clan Gathering is traditionally a highlight on the calendar of the Menzies Clan Society which is based at Castle Menzies. The Gathering is held annually over the 2nd weekend in August and all MCS members with family and friends are welcome to attend. Members can bring 2 guests each, ie bookings are open for a maximum of 3 per event per member.

Whisky Tasting

Welcome Supper at the Castle

FRIDAY 9TH AUGUST

Historical Coach Tour

This year’s historical tour will depart the Weem Church car park. The route will go down to Ballinluig, up to Killiecrankie, then back through the pass on the old road, up to Queens View, Loch Tummel and then back to Weem.


19th Menzies Clan Golf Tournament

Meet at Kenmore Golf Club Pro Shop for 1.30 tee off.  Clubs and trolleys may be hired at the Club, please arrange prior to game.

Tour of the Castle Walled Gardens

A walking presentation of the history, the work and discoveries taking place in the Castle’s Walled Gardens.


Scottish Country Dancing

Beginners of all ages welcome. Come and learn some of the dances performed at the Clan Ceilidh at the Castle.


Bagpiping

A chance to play the bagpipes with some of the Menzies Pipe Band led by the Chief’s Piper.


Castle Tour

Featuring the history of the Clan and the development of the Castle. Meet in front of the Castle if dry, or in the Old Kitchen if wet.


Drinks Reception

Held at the Castle in The Great Room alternatively drinks on the front lawn if the weather is fine.


Clan Dinner

Held in the Dewar Room and the Pink Room.

Dinner is a sharing roast, served to the table, featuring local Scottish produce.

Wine and other beverages available from the bar.

Dress: smart/formal; Highland dress and Menzies Tartan encouraged.
