2017 ’60th Anniversary’ Gathering

Happy 60th, Menzies Clan Society!

Our 60th Anniversary Clan Gathering in August 2017 turned out to be an absolutely wonderful occasion! All the usual events were included, along with extras like a firework display, balloons and a special cake, baked by Graham McCarty. The historical tour conducted by Tommy Pringle to Shian in Glenquoich was extremely popular. There was a record turnout for the Friday evening formal dinner, and we had a good range of ages in attendance including our younger generations. Despite some showers, Robert Menzies of California led a special guided tour of the Castle Gardens, which was extremely popular. Robert was able to show that he and his team had done tremendous work to improve the Gardens.

Thank you

We are very grateful to the team who organised the Gathering, and special thanks go to our main organiser Tom Stone. We were also very fortunate that Tricia Vogt of Hawaii was returning to the Gathering. Tricia, a professional photographer, kindly took loads of beautiful photos to commemorate this very special occasion.

Thank you to Tricia and other contributors inc Sue Barnes, Alastair Menzies, Sean Menzies and Laura Bentzen to our sliding image gallery (above) which tells the story of our unique event!
